Steven Widerman
Steven Widerman is a puppeteer, composer, and producer who has contributed to the numerous fields of entertainment, education, and more for over 60 years. That is pretty impressive for a puppeteer to work for that many years. Over the years, Steven has designed and built more than 400 puppets throughout his career as well as numerous original projects and pieces, all with assistance of course. Widerman has mostly been in the theater but has also performed many films, commercials, and TV shows too, such as The Book of Pooh and Bear in the Big Blue House. His website states that he studied with the legendary Bil Baird before founding his own company called The Puppet Company in 1977. The company mostly did marionettes but also did hand puppets too, I think from one photo. I wonder if Steven Widerman felt excited to assist on Bear, even though he was uncredited. His website states that he is well known by the public as the voice of Al E. Gator and master marionette performer Rocket the Roller Skater. He even got to collaborate with current Muppet performer Eric Jacobson on a TV pilot in 1996 known as The Al E. Gator Show. In addition to Jacobson, Steven got to perform with Robin Walsh, Barbara Pollitt, Eric Engelhardt, and many other puppeteers when on television. Some other projects Widerman's company did over the years include TV shows, commercials, Broadway shows, clubs, and many other businesses across America. Hopefully at some point in the future, he'll have his own page on Muppet Wiki since his website states that he performed on Bear in the Big Blue House. There's just no telling what he'll be doing next because his company is still running. Steven Widerman, you've done such great productions in your life and The Puppet Company is your biggest accomplishment yet. You've also got to meet some Muppet performers while working on The Book of Pooh. Keep on making wonderful productions with your company so that you'll be legendary too. Don't get too "tangled" Steven. Just a joke Widerman!
