Stephen Varnom

Stephen Varnom is a British actor, screenwriter, and filmmaker, who performed The Minotaur in two episodes of The Storyteller: Greek Myths. Brian Henson, David Greenaway, and David Barclay have all puppeteered in those two episodes featuring him as The Minotaur. Outside of The Storyteller, Stephen is a veteran of The Royal Shakespeare Company where he acted in many stage productions such as A Clockwork Orange, The Woman in White, and more. As for television, Varnom mainly did guest spots in many British series like Dalziel and Pascoe, Doctors, Down to Earth, and The Bill. I read on IMDb that he is perhaps best known for his work in The Sweeter Side of Life and in Obsession: Dark Desires both TV movies. He even wrote, directed, and starred in a feature film called It's Been Real, which is like several Muppet performers since they often direct a project they also perform in. Stephen Varnom probably enjoys working on stage and screen rather than wearing a Creature Shop costume since it is very difficult to see with a head mask over you. When it comes to show business, he seems to be well prepared. He even founded his own production company called King Ziggy Productions with Gordon Rennie, though it's unknown which guy with that name at the moment. It would seem Stephen's first job with The Storyteller: Greek Myths really turned him into the man he is today, maybe. Let's just hope Varnom will continue acting, screenwriting, and filmmaking for the near future because he appears to be very talented. I wonder if he remembers the puppeteers on The Storyteller today, which I doubt. You never know when they'll run into each other again. Stephen Varnom, you've done great as The Minotaur and now you're a big star. You'll definitely go down in history with all the work you did over the years, at least I think. Until then, keep being awesome until you stop. But don't Stephen. Peace Varnom!
