Mark Dean

Mark Dean is a British puppeteer, design assistant, and builder who is perhaps best known for being the original operator of Noo Noo on Teletubbies. He also worked on a couple other Ragdoll Productions shows, being the boat wrangler on Rosie & Jim and design assistant on Tots TV. On Teletubbies, Mark not only operated Noo Noo, but also built props and did special effects. Other shows Dean puppeteered on include Big Garage, The Shiny Show, Fimbles, and Conan. It's a shame though he never worked on any Henson Company projects. He would have been great assisting on The Hoobs, Mopatop's Shop, or That Puppet Game Show. At least Mark Dean got to work with several Muppet performers like Brian Herring, Rebecca Nagan, Robin Stevens, and Mark Jefferis, to name a few. I only wish he would work on a project by the Henson Company or the Muppets. It's unknown as of now what he's doing, since he got replaced by Victoria Jane and Olly Taylor alternating Noo Noo on the reboot of Teletubbies. Mark should reveal in an interview how Noo Noo was operated, maybe by remote control since the face and body works like it is operated that way. Dean is probably too tired to perform as of now, as mentioned above he still technically worked with Muppet performers, just not on a Henson project. He's still done a great job on Teletubbies and all those other shows over the years. And when he's gone, he'll always be remembered by his co-workers. Mark Dean, you were wonderful as Noo Noo on Teletubbies and a fair crew member on other Ragdoll Productions. Even though you got replaced in the reboot, you'll never be defeated as the original. Keep on doing whatever it is you're doing now and you'll be great. You really know your puppets and machines Mark. You're a tech wiz Dean!
