Victoria Johnson

Victoria Johnson is a puppeteer, designer, and builder who hasn't worked with the Muppets, although she had studied puppetry with many Muppet performers like Michael Earl, Mak Wilson, and Karen Prell. She began doing puppet shows within Kentucky before traveling the world for her career. I have read that when Victoria was in London, she built and performed a 14 foot tall puppet for an unnamed production for sold out crowds at the Royal Albert Hall. When Johnson returned to the US, she went on to perform at the Center of Puppetry Arts. It amazes me how she managed to perform a tall puppet she built herself. She also performed numerous characters in the main stage puppet production of Peter Pan such as Tinkerbell and the Crocodile. Other characters Victoria Johnson performed appeared in different shows, like Harry, Reggie, Bonny Bunny, and others. It's a shame that the Muppet performers she has studied with never invite her to assist them in any Muppet or Henson project. Even if they did, she was probably happier performing in stage shows rather than television. There's no telling what Victoria is going to do next in her career. I just hope Johnson will work with the Muppets on a project someday, that is when she's free. If not a performer than maybe a builder for Puppet Heap or the Creature Shop for whatever project the Muppets or Henson might do next. Victoria Johnson, despite not performing in a Muppet series, you still got to work with Muppet performers in the early days. I hope you'll keep on performing and building puppets for the theater and maybe soon you'll get a company of your own. It's possible, you never know what will happen. Until then, great work Victoria. Stay flexible Johnson!
