Len Levitt

Len Levitt is a puppeteer, puppet/costume builder, and writer who has worked on various Muppet and Creature Shop projects. He performed a Toy Soldier on Muppet*Vision 3D and operated background characters on both Muppets Tonight and The Muppets (2011). Len also puppeteered the Brontocrane on The Flintstones, built the puppets for Brats of the Lost Nebula, and built character costumes for Sesame Street Live. Levitt should've also done Sesame Street as either a builder or performer, but he must have been happier in California than in New York where the show is taped. Outside, his film credits placed him in Batman Returns as both a builder and puppeteer, as well as an alien operator in Men in Black with James Murray, Peter Linz, Gregory Williams, and more. As for television work, he puppeteered on The Puzzle Place, Greg the Bunny, and The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin, to name a few. In addition to building and performing puppets, Len Levitt is also the creator and writer of two series entitled Alef…Bet…Blast-Off and Bubbe's Boarding House, both alongside Phil Baron. The former show won him an award as I read on his page. I hope he is thinking about assisting on a Muppet project again soon either as a builder or a performer since he's pretty good at both. Len is also one of those Jewish puppeteers since some of the projects he puppeteered on were of Jewish religion. Maybe Levitt will influence other Jewish puppeteers, you never know when puppetry will reach all types of religions. He even wrote 3 episodes of the 2010 Shalom Sesame in which he met other puppeteers from Israel and are Jewish like him. Let's hope he'll keep doing scripts, puppetry, or fabrication of puppets and costumes. Len Levitt, for a puppet/costume builder and performer, you're one of those masters. Keep on doing what you do best and hopefully you'll support Jewish people with puppets. Have pride within your religion and show the world what you're made of. In the meantime, be sure to prepare for the next project you'll work on involving puppetry Len. You're a Jewish puppeteer extraordinaire Levitt!
