Dave Taylor
Dave Taylor is a British producer, director, and writer who was trained to puppeteer by Brian Henson in his early career. He ended up performing with the Muppets on a bunch of UK-based projects in the 1990s such as The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, and The Muppet CD-ROM. I don't know why Dave doesn't write, produce, or direct a project featuring the Muppets. Taylor has also puppeteered and animated for Nickelodeon UK before switching to becoming a producer and director. How come he wanted to be a filmmaker rather than a puppeteer? He's done a great job assisting the Muppets in several UK projects during the 1990s. I've read that he won a Children's BAFTA Award in 2006 and 2009 for his work with Nick Jr. He also won an International Emmy Award in 2014 for producing Pet School. I wish Taylor would have assisted the Muppets in Muppets Most Wanted. He could be trained to puppeteer again by Bill Barretta who served as puppet captain. But I guess Dave was happier being a filmmaker for both film and television. I hope that when this pandemic ends, he would continue to write, produce, and direct shows for children and maybe someday adults. Dave Taylor is like Frank Oz in a way, both would rather direct than puppeteer in their lives. Maybe someday, he will join up with the Muppets again and perhaps he would be trained to puppeteer again for their next project. You never know what the Muppets will do next. Dave should start being a producer and director for adult shows, since he's great with kids. Anyone who can work on shows for kids should work on shows for adults too. Dave Taylor, you've may have had a limited time with the Muppets, but you're still an incredible writer, producer, and director. Keep on doing those three things you're good at and maybe someday you'll show off your talents to the Muppets. I'm sure they will be impressed with your filmmaking career. For right now, stay home and be safe Dave Taylor.
