Mark Mander

Mark Mander is a British puppeteer and costume designer who was an additional performer on Muppets Most Wanted. He was previously an additional puppeteer on Mopatop's Shop (Season 2) and was later one of the additional performers on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. How come Mark didn't work on any other Muppet or Henson projects filmed in the UK? Mander was probably too busy with other projects to film anything involving the Muppets. Outside of Muppets and Henson, he has puppeteered on The Roly Mo Show, hippo George (from Rainbow) for many television appearances, Favoritism, and a video short featuring various BBC Children characters called Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band, to name a few. As a costume designer, he made costumes for both Beauty and the Beast (2014) and for a Norwich puppet diva called Clementine. Mark Mander must have some difficulty creating costumes for such a small puppet. It's a pity he never designed costumes for the Muppets nor the Henson Company, because if he did, that would give him more experience with making costumes for puppets. Let's hope he'll assist on another Henson Company project in the future. You never know when an opportunity will open up for Mark to assist or perform again. In the meantime, Mander should keep on doing whatever it is he's doing now, for he was last seen operating George for his appearance the 2021 Children in Need special. It would appear that George from Rainbow is his most well known character lately since he's played him for several appearances. Every appearance he makes could create a bigger impact on the world, or maybe it couldn't, it all depends on how well he does it. Mark Mander, despite your limited time within Muppet or Henson projects, you're still considered a great performer. Keep on working and you'll be recognized for your talents. I'm even sure that one day, you'll get to design costumes for the Creature Shop as well as perform on a project. It's never too late Mark. You're an expert Mander!
