Phil Eason

Phil Eason was a British puppeteer and puppet designer/builder who performed on Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets Most Wanted, and many Creature Shop projects. Projects such as Labyrinth, The Bear, The Storyteller, Lost in Space (as Blawp) and more. Phil even worked in one Harry Potter film where the Creature Shop supplied creature effects for a troll and animals. Eason's last Creature Shop project was on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (he was interviewed in a making later). His outside work includes Spitting Image, Wizadora, and The Spooks of Bottle Bay, to name a few. As for film, he did the Frank Oz film Little Shop of Horrors and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (as Yaddle). Phil Eason has also designed and built various puppets for various projects that I don't know about but I think some were built for Wizadora, Thunderbirds, and many more. It would appear that he had done so much to the world with his skills for television, film, and even theatre, like A Midsummer Nights Dream, Raj, and Wind the Willows. Unfortunately, his life didn't last very long, for in 2021, he died with his last project being on Spitting Image (revival). At least Phil did lots of productions in the Creature Shop and also got to work alongside numerous Muppet performers. Let's hope Eason will never be forgotten by everyone who performed with him. There wasn't anything he couldn't do when it comes to creating and performing puppets for television, film, and theatre. Now that he's gone, there isn't anybody on Earth who can replace his skills (that goes the same for other dead puppeteers). Phil Eason, you lived a great life and you were wonderful with the Creature Shop too. No matter what shows you were known for, they were all the best in my opinion. Your website will always remain active by those who help run it, until it's archived that is. Farewell to you Phil. Enjoy watching everything from heaven Eason!
