Marie Phillips is a UK-based puppeteer and actress whose only work with the Muppets was being an additional Muppet performer on Muppet Treasure Island. I don't know why she has not performed on other productions by the Muppets or Creature Shop like Muppets Most Wanted or The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Phillips has previously puppeteered with the Caricature Theatre in Cardiff, Wales, probably performed in a lot of theatrical productions. She also served as a puppeteer for Audrey II in a 1986 Welsh theatrical production of Little Shop of Horrors for the Theatr Clwyd. It appears Marie is another puppeteer who started out in theatre before working on screen. Her other puppetry credits has mainly been for two television series, Spitting Image (in 1987 and 1990) and Dizzy Heights (with William Todd-Jones). As an actress, her only known on-screen role was portraying a librarian in 1997 episode of a BBC comedy series called ChuckleVision. It would appear that Phillips has done exactly the same amount of projects featuring puppets outside of the Muppets than with the Muppets. Except that Marie has done two puppetry television shows and many theatre shows while she has only done one Muppet film. I hope that whenever she's not busy, she could ask the Muppets to assist them for their next project when they perform in the UK again. I don't know when it will happen, but until it does happen, I hope she will keep herself busy with either acting or puppeteering from home. Maybe Phillips will have her chance to ask the Muppets to assist them again someday. If that does not work then maybe Marie can ask the Creature Shop if they have room in a production for her. One Muppet project is not enough to be a Muppet puppeteer, than transition to Muppet performer like the others who have done so. Marie Phillips, I'm sure you're an expert when it comes to puppeteering and you were much popular from the 1980's-1990's. Someday you'll return to the world of puppetry and then you can work with either the Muppets or the Creature Shop on a project. Though I'm not sure when it will happen, I can bet that it will happen when this pandemic ends, probably. Keep on trying Phillips!
