Joan Morris is a British puppeteer who worked as an additional puppeteer in two Muppet films, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island. She is also the wife of fellow puppeteer named James Barton who worked alongside her in both Muppet films. I don't know why Morris has not done any work by the Creature Shop. She would probably feel like she doesn't have the courage to operate a creature or monster to someone else's voice. Joan and her husband have also served as puppeteers in Frank Oz's Little Shop of Horrors. It must have been hard for both of them to operate Audrey II along with several other puppeteers like Graham Fletcher, Nigel Plaskitt, and Mike Quinn. Together, James and Joan co-founded the Jactito Theatre Company in 1976. I've read that David Barclay is among the company's alumni. The company has done various puppet shows for children such as Rapunzel, Very Ugly Duckling, The Frog Prince, and many more. It shows that Morris has the qualities of becoming a Muppet performer, and that is performing for both children and adults. It also says that she was also part of the resident puppet company at the Young Vic Theatre. I'll bet Joan had a tough time working with two theatre groups in alteration. I don't know what those two Bartons are doing right now but I'll bet they enjoyed working in two Muppet films and in Little Shop of Horrors. I mean they both got to work with the legendary Frank Oz and see two sides of him. The puppeteer side and the director side of him. I just hope that when the Muppets are in the UK again, both Joan and James could ask if they can assist in their next project, whenever that is. At least both of them got to work with the Muppets but not the Creature Shop. Joan Morris, you and your husband have done a great job at assisting the Muppets and making kids happy with Jactito Theatre Company. I hope you two keep working for the company and maybe someday assist in a Creature Shop project since you've done none. Anyone who worked with the Muppets deserves a chance to work with the Creature Shop. I just hope that you two will keep puppeteering for children. You really know how to put a smile on a kid's face Joan, so you keep on doing that and maybe someday you'll be a Muppet performer too. Great puppeteering Joan!
