Robin Stevens

Robin Stevens is a British actor, puppeteer, writer, director, and producer who performed in Labyrinth as part of the goblin unit. I don't know why he only performed in one Creature Shop project and not in any projects featuring the Muppets. Robin had the chance to work with the Muppets anytime they were in the UK. But I guess Stevens was happier doing the puppetry he chose to do. Outside of his work in Labyrinth, he has been a key member of Ragdoll Productions, a British kids production company, for over twenty years. He starred on their first series, Pob's Programme as the title character. Robin Stevens later wrote, produced, and performed Jim on Rosie and Jim, working alongside Rebecca Nagan. He also wrote, directed, and performed Tom on Tots TV, the show had a similar format to Rosie and Jim since it was on-location. I wonder if he had difficulty puppeteering on-location with his characters Jim and Tom for those two series. Robin was probably in a variety of uncomfortable positions when he puppeteered them. For Teletubbies, Stevens guest starred in various episodes where he played the singing puppet man in the magic house events. As for Boohbah, he doubled as a writer and appeared on-camera as Grandpappa (a story person). He is still working working with puppets on other different projects like Blips and Moon and Me (as puppet captain). Robin Stevens, you're a master at both filmmaking and puppetry and you're excellent at working with children. Your friends Andrew Davenport, Claire Carre, and Alexandra Hogg must be proud of you. Keep on puppeteering for television and maybe someday you'll assist the Muppets on a future project, you never know. Well done doing Ragdoll Productions for years Robin. You've really brought the laughter and curiosity in many children Stevens!
