David Greenaway

David Greenaway | Muppet Wiki | Fandom
David Greenaway is a puppeteer who has puppeteered on many Creature Shop productions. His first work with the Creature Shop was on The Dark Crystal as one of the Mystics. David later went on to puppeteer some of the goblins for Labyrinth. He then worked on The Storyteller, puppeteering many animals including The Thought Lion, which the episodes were reused for The Jim Henson Hour. His other work for The Jim Henson Hour was on Monster Maker and Living with Dinosaurs. There just doesn't seem to be any Creature Shop project in which Greenaway didn't work on. His most notable Creature Shop project was Dinosaurs (as Spike, Ethyl Phillips on occasion, and the face of Roy Hess, amongst others). David's only Muppet credit to date has been assisting on The Animal Show during Season 2. His other Creature Shop film work can be seen on The Witches (as mice), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and it's sequel (as the face of Raphael), and Babe. It seems David Greenaway is more interested in working with creatures rather than Muppets. I wish that he would do more projects that feature the Muppets. Outside of the Creature Shop, he has assisted with Yoda in the Star Wars films Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace. Greenaway was also one of the puppeteers for Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors. I've read that while living in Berlin, David has appeared on-camera in a recurring guest role on a German TV series called Montagskinder. I don't know where he's from, but it sounds like he's another puppeteer that travels the world. I also read that his most recent works are Top of the Food Chain and Zebra Lounge which he also acted on-screen. What ever happened to him after his acting in 2001? Wherever Greenaway is, I hope that he's still puppeteering for various films involving creatures and animals. I just wish that he would work with the Muppets on one project that stars them. David Greenaway, you're a master at animatronic puppetry and have a strange taste for a creature kind of puppet. I hope that wherever you are, you keep working with puppets and I hope that someday you'll work with the Muppets on one project. Anyone who worked with the Creature Shop deserves another chance to do more work with the Muppets. Always think big David Greenaway!
