Lisa Sturz
Lisa Sturz is a puppeteer, designer, and builder who's been a professional puppeteer for over 40 years in North Carolina. She served as an additional performer within Muppets from Space, The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland, and The Flintstones (as the Dictabird). I don't know Lisa has not assisted in other projects featuring the Muppets. Sturz also been an additional puppeteer on non-Muppet projects such as The Puzzle Place, Howard the Duck, BeeSting (which she also wrote, produced, and directed), Let's Go Shopping with Read-a-roo, and many more. Her most well known work is being involved in designing, building, and performing puppets with Red Herring Inc, a puppetry and costuming company in North Carolina. She was the founder of the company and was responsible for many tour shows, commercials, and feature films. Red Herring Inc was behind the puppets, costumes, and props for the many projects it produced with Lisa Sturz supervising. I read that Red Herring Inc even had collaborations with operas, orchestras, and theaters translating ideas into puppet design and fabrication. She's probably still running the company today, but I wonder if she still remembers working in that Muppet film and on the second Sesame Street film both taped in North Carolina. Other performers Lisa worked with include Anthony Asbury, Len Levitt, Peter Baird, and Lynette Eklund, to name a few. Sturz seems to be experienced in both film and television since she's done both for years. Maybe someday she'll see a Muppet performer again and share information about Red Herring Inc. It's just a thought though, it won't actually happen but of course you never know. Lisa Sturz, you are wonderful at Red Herring Inc and you've also done great filming with the Muppets and Sesame Street in the same year for their films. Keep on designing, building, and performing puppets with the company. And remember how much you enjoyed performing with Muppet performers. Don't stop the great puppet career Lisa. You're a professional Sturz!
