James Rankin

James Rankin | Muppet Wiki | Fandom
James Rankin is a Canadian puppeteer, voice actor, and puppet designer/builder who has done one of each on two projects by Henson and the Creature Shop. He supplied the voice of Frisky on Dog City, which contains puppetry and animation. James also did both voices and puppetry for Brats of the Lost Nebula, which had Bill Barretta. But why doesn't Rankin ever assist the Muppets when they were in Canada? He could have assisted the performers in It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie or The Muppets Wizard of Oz, but he was probably too busy with voice acting. As a puppeteer, he puppeteered in numerous non-Henson productions, such as Groundling Marsh, The Noddy Shop, The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon, Freaky Stories, and more. As a voice actor, James Rankin can be heard in various animated series like Franklin, Elliot Moose, Camp Lakebottom, The NeverEnding Story, and more. If he can work in all of those projects, than he needs to work with the Muppets on a project. Does he like puppeteering better or voice acting better? I've read that in 2014, James produced a documentary called Road Less Traveled about 2 brothers having an adventure off-road in America. Rankin seems to do more voice acting than puppetry when it comes to working on screen. He has mostly lent his voice in productions by Nelvana, a Canadian animation company (which supplied the animated segments for Dog City). Why can't there be more TV shows that contain both puppetry and animation interacting with each other? James Rankin, you have an incredible voice and you puppeteer great. That's why you want you to work on a project featuring the Muppets when you get a chance. Because anyone who can both puppeteer and voice act, must be a Muppet performer. Until then, whether it's puppetry or voice acting, keep doing it for television. Real freaky performances James. You're out of sight Rankin!
