Cheryl Henson

Cheryl Henson is the President of the Jim Henson Foundation, is a member of the Board of Directors for The Jim Henson Company, and the second child of Jim and Jane Henson. Cheryl started building puppets on The Muppet Show and The Dark Crystal when she was only a teenager. In two interviews, she states that she built singing food and lobsters for two Muppet Show skits. Henson continued to be involved in Muppet productions after she graduated from Yale. She also puppeteered for the Muppets a couple of times. She assisted in episode 513 of The Muppet Show, in 3 Muppet TV specials, and in the Creature Shop film Labyrinth (which she also built puppets). Cheryl later became involved with The Tale of the Bunny Picnic, The Storyteller, and Mother Goose Stories. I never knew Jim and Jane Henson both raised such entertained and artistic kids. She must be proud of herself by all of the work she has done for her father. Soon Cheryl's work extended outside of puppet building; she has served as Art Director for a special called The Song of the Cloud Forest. Henson has not only made puppets in her life, but she also made a book with the Muppet Workshop for children. The book is called The Muppets Make Puppets!, and it offered kids ideas for creating puppets out of ordinary objects and it also shows instructions on how to make them. Cheryl Henson has really did something that a Muppet builder would do, show people that they can make puppets out of any household object. She has even received the New Victory Arts Award at the New 42nd Street Gala in 2011. Why doesn't she work at The Jim Henson Company in California instead of currently living in New York City? Cheryl could have the opportunity to work alongside Brian Henson and Lisa Henson. I guess it's her decision on what she wants to do. Cheryl Henson, you've started out as a normal teenager before becoming the leader of The Jim Henson Company. Keep on working and I'm sure you're parents would be proud!
