David Collins
David Collins is an Australian puppeteer, writer, and director who has performed in several different projects by the Creature Shop. For television, he worked on Farscape (and its miniseries), Bambaloo, and Me and My Monsters (as an assistant puppeteer). David also assisted on one Creature Shop film called Babe, where it's a mixture of live animals and animatronics. Why is it that Collins only worked on productions made by the Creature Shop and not featuring the Muppets? The Muppets should do a TV special or a film that will be taped in Australia, that way he could work with the Muppets for one project. I doubt it will happen, but you never know. Outside of the Creature Shop, David Collins has puppeteered on other TV series, such as The Ferals (as Rattus), Lift Off, and Bananas in Pyjamas, to name a few. I read that in the 1980's, he was a part the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre group, which he not only served as a puppeteer but sometimes wrote and directed. I wonder if his name can be confused by another person with the same first and last name, as in David Collins of the Umbilical Brothers. To let people know, David is different from him despite the similar names. I still wish that Collins would do a single project with the Muppets, though he is in the Muppet performer category on the Wiki. If he is in that category, than he should do more Muppets or Henson. But other than that, he's still an excellent Australian puppeteer. David Collins, I want you to keep doing puppetry but I also want you to work with the Muppets for at least one project. You may be a talented man and you should show the Muppets what you've got. But otherwise, you've done great as Rattus and other characters. And don't be mistaken for someone else of the same name David. Nobody would ever say "I smell a rat" to you Collins!
