Fred Garbo
Fred "Garbo" Garver is a performer and juggler who is known for playing Barkley on Sesame Street, taking over the role from Brian Muehl. He also performed as a gorilla named after himself and did the hands of a large monster juggler named Dexter. It must have been very hard for Fred to do the juggling while Kevin Clash was above him performing Dexter's head. Garver seemed like a great man to go on all fours doing a full-bodied dog. In 1984, he also walked in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as a juggling Fraggle, as stated in a source on his Wiki page. It would seem that he is more into juggling than puppeteering since he left Sesame Street after its 24th season. Why aren't there other puppeteers who can juggle like Fred Garver can? Another thing, how come he's been credited by his stage name on the show instead of his real name? I have read that the name "Garbo" is only a stage name coming from an established clown act. Outside of Sesame Street, Fred has created the Fred Garbo Theater troupe, a troupe specialized in using blow-up suits for performance. Garver also performed onstage in Barnum, and was in the background of the 1982 film Annie. I read that in 2008, he auditioned on the third season of America's Got Talent but got rejected during audition. At least he tried to audition for a contest and that's all that matters. Fred Garver, you may not have done America's Got Talent, but you are still a very talented man, and you were great as Barkley (before Bruce Connelly took over). I hope you will get another chance to show the Inflatable Theater troupe. Keep up the wonderful work and try to go down in history as one of the greatest jugglers on Earth. Hope someone will see you "around" Fred. That was just a little juggling joke Garver (or Garbo, whatever your name goes)!
