Jim Martin is a puppeteer, director, and puppet builder who worked with the Muppets beginning in the 1980's. On Sesame Street, he performed Preston Rabbit and various one-shot characters from seasons 19-44 before transitioning into directing. Jim directed various specials, videos, and spin-offs and was the main director of Elmo's World. Martin also worked with the Muppets on various other stuff such as The Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppet Meeting Films, and a couple of videos. He has also performed on Dog City and directed several episodes of The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss and Bear in the Big Blue House (also assistant). Outside of the Muppets and Sesame Street, he performed on shows such as The Puzzle Place (which he also served as director), The Great Space Coaster, Captain Kangaroo (also a builder) and Once Upon a Tree. Jim Martin also directed certain episodes on Between the Lions and Johnny and the Sprites. I'm glad that he's another Muppet performer who can direct as well. He worked  with other performers like John Lovelady, Noel MacNeal, Carmen Osbahr, and more. He also shared in five Daytime Emmy Awards for directing alongside the other directors. Jim left Sesame Street after the 44th season and nobody knew what happened to him for a while. Martin was last seen in an interview with his character Gary Gnu. Let's hope he'll puppeteer or direct again soon. You never know when one puppeteer will be revealed again in public after hiding. Jim Martin, you are great at puppeteering and you're awesome at being a director. Keep on doing those two things, unless you retired. Because if you did, you've done a great job on working for television & home video, especially on Sesame Street and The Puzzle Place. Enjoy yourself Jim. You really made a difference Martin!
