Fergie L. Philippe

Fergie L. Philippe is an actor, puppeteer, writer, and director who performed for both stage and screen for many years. His two most notable shows were the Broadway production of Hamilton and the 2023 Lincoln Center staging of Camelot. Fergie didn't really perform on Sesame Street, but he did appear as an extra in the 2025 Sesame Street special Cookie Monster's Bake Sale: Block Party. Philippe probably felt honored to make an appearance on the set of such an iconic show, as well as stand next to one of the performers, Sebastiano Ricci to be precise. His theatrical puppet work includes Anika's Elephants (that involved Martin P. Robinson, Pam Arciero, and Annie Evans) and the Muny's 2024 production of The Little Mermaid (performing Sebastian under the direction of John Tartaglia). As for television and film, he appeared on-screen in The Good Flight, The Gilded Age, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, so far, the only television projects he did in his career. Fergie L. Philippe is probably still new at working on screen than on stage, since he's done the latter more than the former. Some of his other stage acting credits include The Connector, Legally Blonde, Frozen, Twelfth Night, and numerous others. His site says that in January 2025, he directed a short film called An Unlikely Hero, written by Emilo Rodriguez that was shown at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. I wonder what other projects Fergie wrote and/or directed for throughout his career. Hopefully at some point in the future Philippe will appear on Sesame Street proper, you never know when new puppeteers will be needed. And if not puppeteers, then he'd make a perfect extra in the background of future episodes. But in the meantime, he should continue to act and puppeteer for stage and screen. Fergie L. Philippe, you're doing wonderful so far in the world of theatre because you're learning something new in the industry every day. Even though you've appeared only once on Sesame Street, that doesn't mean it won't happen again in the future. And you got to meet the Sesame Street Muppets in that appearance. That's a plus Fergie. Keep on working Philippe!
